Xavier Lopez (born October 23, 2003), known professionally as Xaviersobased, is an American rapper and record producer from New York City, widely recognized for his eccentric style and genre-blending sound that spans trap, plugg, jerk, and hyperpop. He began releasing music under the Xaviersobased moniker in 2016 and gained early recognition with his breakout track “Patchmade.” In 2024, he gained further attention with the single “40,” a collaboration with Surf Gang producer Evilgiane and rapper Nettspend, followed by a standout freestyle on On The Radar that became the track “Special” on his mixtape Keep It Goin Xav. Released on January 16, 2024, the 15-track project, hosted by DJ Rennessy, received critical praise from Pitchfork for its improvisational energy and commitment to New York’s raw rap identity. Later that year, he dropped his second mixtape, with 2, on June 5, following a leak; the project was noted for its unfiltered creativity and disregard for commercial trends. In early 2025, Lopez joined Nettspend’s Invert Tour and was featured on the collaborative track “Impact,” released on March 18. With a sound described as vibrant, experimental, and defiantly unique, Xaviersobased continues to push boundaries within the internet rap scene while staying grounded in his New York roots.
