Maroon 5

Maroon 5 is a Grammy Award–winning American pop-rock band formed in Los Angeles, California. The group began in 1994 as Kara’s Flowers with members Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden, and Ryan Dusick. After limited success, they rebranded as Maroon 5 in 2001 and added guitarist James Valentine. Their debut album Songs About Jane (2002) brought international fame with hit singles like This Love and She Will Be Loved.

Over the years, Maroon 5 evolved their sound, blending pop, rock, funk, R&B, and electronic influences. They became known for Adam Levine’s distinctive falsetto voice and chart-topping singles such as Moves Like Jagger, Payphone, Sugar, and Girls Like You.

The band’s lineup grew to include Matt Flynn (drums), PJ Morton (keyboards), and Sam Farrar (multi-instrumentalist), while original drummer Ryan Dusick and bassist Mickey Madden departed. Maroon 5 has released multiple platinum-certified albums, sold millions of records worldwide, and performed at major events including the Super Bowl LIII Halftime Show in 2019.

With a career spanning over two decades, Maroon 5 remains one of the most successful and recognizable pop bands of the 21st century.
