Arcángel

Austin Agustín Santos, known professionally as Arcángel, is an American rapper and singer born on December 23, 1985, who has become one of the most influential figures in Latin urban music and a pioneer of Latin trap. He began his career in Puerto Rico as part of the reggaeton duo Arcángel & De la Ghetto, releasing underground hits like “Aparentemente” and “Ven Pégate” before going solo in 2007. After founding his own label, Flow Factory Inc., and releasing the popular track “Chica Virtual,” he gained widespread recognition despite setbacks like the leak of his intended debut album, La Maravilla. His official debut, El Fenómeno (2008), marked the start of a successful solo run that included hit singles such as “Pa’ Que la Pases Bien,” “Por Amar a Ciegas,” “Me Prefieres a Mí,” and “Sigues Con Él.” His 2013 album Sentimiento, Elegancia & Maldad topped the Billboard Latin Albums chart, followed by acclaimed releases like Ares, Historias de un Capricornio, and Los Favoritos 2. With a distinct style that blends melody, street energy, and lyrical depth, Arcángel has solidified his legacy as a trailblazer in Latin trap and a powerful voice in Latin music overall.
