Ca7riel

Ca7riel, born Catriel Guerreiro Fernández Peñaloza in 1993 in Buenos Aires, is a multifaceted Argentine musician, singer, guitarist, and rapper known for his genre-blending style and electrifying stage presence. His musical journey began in rock and metal, later evolving into urban genres like trap and hip-hop, where he gained prominence for his innovative sound. A graduate of the Juan Pedro Esnaola School of Artistic Education, Ca7riel trained as a music teacher and honed his skills in session work and cover bands. He spent seven years with the progressive rock, funk, and reggae-infused band Astor y las Flores de Marte, drawing inspiration from Argentine legends like Luis Alberto Spinetta and Charly García. In 2018, he teamed up with childhood friend Ulises Guerriero (Paco Amoroso) to form the groundbreaking duo Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso. Known for their experimental fusion of Latin trap, hip-hop, and electronic elements, the duo rose to international attention after their viral NPR Tiny Desk Concert. Their dynamic use of live instruments and chaotic, high-energy performances have set them apart in the Latin music scene. Beyond the duo, Ca7riel has collaborated with major artists such as Lali, Tini, and Duki, solidifying his reputation as a bold and boundary-pushing force in contemporary Argentine music.
