Cassie Ventura, born Casandra Elizabeth Ventura on August 26, 1986, in New London, Connecticut, is an American singer, actress, model, and dancer. She began her career in modeling at the age of 14, signing with Wilhelmina Models and appearing in magazines such as Seventeen. Her transition into music was facilitated by producer Ryan Leslie, who signed her to NextSelection Lifestyle Group in 2004. Cassie’s debut single, “Me & U,” released in 2006 under Bad Boy Records, became a significant hit, peaking at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and propelling her self-titled debut album to number four on the Billboard 200.
In addition to her music career, Cassie ventured into acting, notably starring as Sophie Donovan in the 2008 dance film Step Up 2: The Streets. She continued to release music, including the mixtape RockaByeBaby in 2013, which featured collaborations with artists like Rick Ross and Wiz Khalifa.
