Diamond Platnumz

Naseeb Abdul Juma Issack, professionally known as Diamond Platnumz, is a Tanzanian bongo flava recording artist, dancer, philanthropist, and businessman, born on October 2, 1989. Widely regarded as one of the most influential musicians in East and Central Africa, Diamond is the founder and CEO of WCB Wasafi Record Label, Wasafi Bet, and Wasafi Media. He began his music career in 2006 at the age of 18 while selling clothes to fund studio sessions, eventually recording his first single “Toka Mwanzo,” which did not achieve commercial success. His breakthrough came in 2010 with the release of “Kamwambie,” a hit single that won three Tanzania Music Awards and was followed by his debut album of the same name. In 2014, he earned a nomination at the BET Awards for Best International Act: Africa. After signing a deal with Universal Music in 2017, he released his third studio album A Boy from Tandale in 2018. Known for his high-quality visuals, he frequently collaborates with videographer Director Kenny, including on the massively successful track “Waah,” which earned a nomination for Best African Video at the 2021 All Africa Music Awards and has garnered over 100 million views on YouTube. In 2021, Diamond and WCB Wasafi entered into a 360 partnership with Warner Music Group, further cementing his global influence. He also made history as the first Africa-based artist to surpass 900 million views on YouTube, underscoring his status as a continental music icon.
