Dorcas Kamikazi was born on June 26, 2006, in Musanze, Rwanda. She is the younger sister in the gospel duo Vestine and Dorcas, with her elder sister Ishimwe Vestine Taricy, born on February 2, 2004. Growing up in a musically inclined family, the sisters developed a passion for gospel music from a young age, often performing together in church and community events.
Their music blends traditional Rwandan gospel with contemporary R&B influences, characterized by harmonious vocals and spiritually uplifting lyrics.
In recent years, Dorcas and Vestine have expanded their musical repertoire by incorporating Swahili into their songs, aiming to reach a broader East African audience. Their Swahili song “Neema” marked a significant step in this direction .Their song “Yebo (Nitawale)” has been particularly well-received, showcasing their growth as artists and their ability to connect with audiences across different languages and cultures.
