Ricky Hampton (born June 10, 1992), professionally known as Finesse2tymes, is an American rapper hailing from Memphis, Tennessee. Renowned for his thunderous voice and motivational, no-nonsense lyricism, he rose to national attention in 2022 with his breakout single “Back End,” which entered the Billboard Hot 100 and became a viral hit on TikTok.
Finesse2tymes began his career in Memphis’s vibrant underground rap scene. In 2012, he co-founded the rap collective Memphis Greatest Underrated alongside local heavyweights such as Moneybagg Yo and Blac Youngsta. The group released a self-titled EP in 2016, laying the groundwork for what would become a defining presence in Southern rap.
In 2019, Finesse2tymes gained wider attention with his solo mixtape Hustle & Flow, showcasing his gritty storytelling and relentless hustle ethos. Despite a public falling out with Moneybagg Yo, the two reconciled in September 2022, leading to Finesse’s signing with Moneybagg Yo’s Bread Gang Entertainment. Shortly after, he secured a joint deal with J. Prince Jr.’s Mob Ties Records and Atlantic Records, further solidifying his place in the industry.
October 2022 was a pivotal month for the rapper, marked by the release of “Gucci Flow,” featuring Gucci Mane, and “Black Visa,” with Moneybagg Yo. That December, he dropped his debut commercial mixtape, 90 Days, featuring collaborations with rap heavyweights including Lil Baby, Gucci Mane, Moneybagg Yo, and production from Tay Keith. The project was praised for its raw energy and Memphis-rooted sound.
In 2024, Finesse2tymes released his debut studio album, Art of War, though it failed to chart. Despite this, his impact remains strong, driven by a loyal fan base and a steady stream of motivational, street-hardened content that reflects his personal evolution and Memphis roots.
