About "GIVĒON"

Biography

Giveon Dezmann Evans, known mononymously as Giveon (stylized as GIVĒON), is an American R&B singer and songwriter born on February 21, 1995. He rose to fame in 2020 after featuring on Drake’s hit “Chicago Freestyle,” which peaked at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100. That same year, he signed with Epic Records and released two EPs—Take Time and When It’s All Said and Done—with Take Time earning a Grammy nomination and spawning the quintuple platinum single “Heartbreak Anniversary.” Giveon had self-released his debut single, “Garden Kisses,” in 2018, catching the attention of Canadian producer Sevn Thomas, who signed him to Not So Fast and Epic Records. He gained traction performing live, including opening for Snoh Aalegra’s 2019 tour, and released “Like I Want You” shortly after. In 2021, he featured alongside Daniel Caesar on Justin Bieber’s global hit “Peaches,” which topped multiple charts and received four Grammy nominations. That year, his two EPs were combined into the compilation When It’s All Said and Done… Take Time, which peaked at number five on the Billboard 200. His debut studio album, Give or Take, followed in 2022, reaching number 11, solidifying Giveon as a powerful voice in modern R&B.
