Jessica Reyez, known professionally as Jessie Reyez, is a Canadian singer-songwriter born on June 12, 1991. Hailing from Toronto, Ontario, Reyez rose to prominence with her raw vocals, emotionally honest songwriting, and fearless storytelling. Her breakout single “Figures,” released in 2016, marked her entry into mainstream recognition, peaking at number 58 on the Canadian Hot 100 and earning triple platinum certification in Canada and platinum status in the U.S.
Reyez made a major impact with her debut EP, Kiddo, in 2017, which tackled personal experiences and industry challenges, including the powerful short film Gatekeeper, which confronted sexism and exploitation in the music business.
