John K

John Poulson Keyser, professionally known as John K (formerly stylized as JOHN.k), is an American pop singer born on October 24, 1990. He first gained national attention as Johnny Keyser during his appearances on American Idol, reaching the Las Vegas Rounds in Season 11 and the quarterfinals in Season 12. In 2012, he independently released his debut EP, From Where I Stand, which reached #44 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart. Rebranding as John K, he released his breakout single “OT” in 2017, followed by the hit “If We Never Met,” which gained widespread recognition after being featured on Today thanks to Elvis Duran. The success of the song led to a record deal with Epic Records in April 2019. He followed up with the single “Wasted Summer” and continued to rise in the pop music scene. “If We Never Met” earned gold certification from the RIAA in April 2020 and was certified platinum later that September, solidifying John K’s place as a rising star in contemporary pop music.
