Ladipoe

Ladipo Eso, professionally known as Ladipoe or Poe, is a Nigerian rapper and singer renowned for his lyrical depth and genre-blending sound. He rose to prominence with his feature on “Feel Alright” by Show Dem Camp and became the first rapper to sign with Mavin Records in 2017 following its rebrand from Mo’Hits. His debut single under the label, “Man Already,” was produced by Altims and showcased his unique blend of introspective rap and Afro-fusion. Ladipoe is inspired by artists like Slum Village, Lupe Fiasco, and Little Brother and is a member of the Nigerian supergroup Collectiv3, where he is known as the “Leader of the New Revival.” In 2019, he released the uplifting single “Jaiye,” followed by the breakout hit “Know You” featuring Simi, which expanded his mainstream appeal. His 2021 smash hit “Feeling,” featuring Bnxn (formerly Buju), topped the TurnTable Top 50 chart multiple times and became an anthem across Africa, even reaching club scenes in South Africa. Despite the challenges of pushing rap in a market that favors other genres, Ladipoe has remained steadfast, often crediting his resilience and success to faith and prayer, continuing to carve out a lane for hip-hop in the Nigerian music industry.
