About "NAV"

Biography

Navraj Singh Goraya, professionally known as Nav, is a Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer born on November 3, 1989. He began his music career behind the scenes as a producer, gaining early recognition in 2015 for co-producing Drake’s diss track “Back to Back.” Nav soon transitioned to performing, releasing a string of successful singles on SoundCloud and YouTube, including “Take Me Simple,” “Myself,” and “The Man,” the latter gaining exposure through Drake’s OVO Sound Radio. His growing popularity led to a deal with XO and Republic Records, where he became closely associated with the Weeknd and manager Amir “Cash” Esmailian. Nav’s breakout as a featured artist came with Travis Scott’s “Beibs in the Trap,” which he solely produced. His self-titled debut mixtape arrived in 2017, followed by Perfect Timing, a collaboration with Metro Boomin. Nav’s second and third studio albums, Bad Habits (2019) and Good Intentions (2020), both debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, with the hit single “Turks” (featuring Gunna and Travis Scott) becoming his highest-charting solo track. He continued to rise with the success of “Lemonade” alongside Internet Money, Don Toliver, and Gunna. In 2022, Nav released Demons Protected by Angels, debuting at number two, followed by his 2025 project OMW2 Rexdale, which experienced a commercial decline but continued his steady output in the hip-hop scene. Known for blending atmospheric production with melodic rap, Nav remains a key figure in modern trap and Canadian hip-hop.
