Rachel Ashley Platten, born May 20, 1981, in New York City and raised in Newton Centre, Massachusetts, is an American pop singer, songwriter, and author best known for her uplifting, empowering anthems. After independently releasing her debut album Trust in Me in 2003 and Be Here in 2011, she rose to international fame in 2015 with her breakthrough hit “Fight Song,” which peaked at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a multi-platinum global anthem of resilience. She followed with other inspirational hits like “Stand by You” and “Better Place,” and released the albums Wildfire (2016) and Waves (2017) under Columbia Records. Beyond music, she is the author of the children’s book You Belong (2022) and is known for her philanthropic work, particularly in children’s health and empowerment causes.
