Rosé was born in Auckland, New Zealand, and moved to Melbourne, Australia, at the age of seven. Growing up in a musically inclined family, she began singing and learned to play the guitar and piano during her childhood. Her passion for music was evident early on, often performing in church choirs and school events.
In 2012, at the age of 15, Rosé auditioned for YG Entertainment in Sydney, Australia, and was selected first among 700 participants. She then moved to Seoul, South Korea, to begin her rigorous training as a K-pop idol. After four years of intensive preparation, she debuted with BLACKPINK in August 2016.
Rosé launched her solo career on March 12, 2021, with the single album “R”, featuring the lead track “On The Ground”. The song achieved significant success, making her the first South Korean female soloist to enter the UK Singles Chart.
In 2024, she signed with The Black Label for her solo activities and with Atlantic Records for international promotions. Her debut studio album, “Rosie”, released in September 2024, includes collaborations with artists like Bruno Mars. The lead single “https://lyricalsource.com/lyrics/apt-rose-bruno-mars” topped charts in multiple countries and made Rosé the first South Korean female soloist to enter the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.
