Slightly Stoopid is a genre-blending band from Ocean Beach, San Diego, California, formed in 1994 by childhood friends Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald. Their music fuses elements of reggae, punk rock, hip-hop, funk, and blues, creating a distinctive sound that has garnered a dedicated fan base over the years. The band’s journey began when they were discovered by Sublime’s frontman, Bradley Nowell, who signed them to his label, Skunk Records, while they were still in high school. Their debut album, Slightly $toopid, was released in 1996, featuring a guest appearance by Nowell himself. Since then, they’ve released several albums, including The Longest Barrel Ride (1998), Everything You Need (2003), Closer to the Sun (2005), Chronchitis (2007), Top of the World (2012),

Meanwhile…Back at the Lab (2015), and Everyday Life, Everyday People (2018). Their live performances are renowned for their energy and improvisation, often featuring collaborations with artists like Don Carlos, Karl Denson, and Chali 2na.
