Sanele Sydow, professionally known as WizTheMc, is a South African-German singer, rapper, songwriter, and record producer born in 1999, currently based in Toronto, Canada. He gained international recognition with his 2020 breakout single “For a Minute,” which has amassed over 66 million streams on Spotify and was featured on Grey’s Anatomy, Facebook Messenger, and the Netflix film He’s All That (2021). His 2025 collaboration with Bees & Honey, “Show Me Love,” further solidified his rising status. WizTheMc began his music journey in 2015 by forming the collective “No Homes” in Germany, which was active for two years. In 2017, he moved to Toronto to pursue a solo career, writing and freestyling songs from his bedroom. Since 2018, he has released three studio albums—Backin Toronto, Blessings in Disguise, and Growing Teeth—along with eight EPs, one compilation album, and numerous singles. He has toured extensively across Europe, the U.S., and Canada, sharing stages with major artists like ASAP Rocky, Billie Eilish, Burna Boy, Miley Cyrus, Future, Alan Walker, Half Alive, and Skip Marley, making him one of the most versatile and globally connected emerging artists of his generation.
