Zach Top, born Zachary Dirk Top on September 26, 1997, in Sunnyside, Washington, is an American country and bluegrass singer-songwriter known for his neo-traditional country style. Raised on a ranch, he developed a passion for classic country music early on, forming a band with his siblings at the age of seven. After a brief stint studying mechanical engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder, he left to pursue music full-time, performing with various bluegrass groups before moving to Nashville in 2021. There, he signed a publishing deal with Major Bob Music and began his solo career.
In 2022, Top released his self-titled debut EP with RBR Entertainment. The following year, he signed with the independent label Leo33 and shifted his focus to country music. His debut single to country radio, “Sounds Like the Radio,” released in January 2024, became a top 20 hit on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. His debut studio album, “Cold Beer & Country Music,” released on April 5, 2024, peaked at number 4 on the US Country chart. The album’s second single, “I Never Lie,” went viral on TikTok and became his first number-one hit on country radio.
Top’s contributions to music have been recognized with several accolades. In 2025, he won the Academy of Country Music Award for New Male Artist of the Year and was nominated for Album of the Year for “Cold Beer & Country Music.” He was also nominated for the Country Music Association’s New Artist of the Year in 2024.
Beyond his musical achievements, Top is in a relationship with model and influencer Amelia Taylor.
