Ethel Cain - Willoughby Tuker , I'll Always Love You

Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You is Ethel Cain’s second studio album and serves as a haunting prequel to her debut Preacher’s Daughter. Released on August 8, 2025, the record unfolds in a slow, atmospheric folk-slowcore style steeped in Southern Gothic storytelling. It explores a doomed teenage romance with the title character, weaving ambient textures, drone, and folk into cinematic, emotionally dense tracks like “Nettles,” “Fuck Me Eyes,” “Dust Bowl,” and the sprawling 15-minute finale “Waco, Texas.” The album is immersive and richly textured—deliberately uneven at times—but ultimately succeeds as a deeply personal, evocative continuation of Ethel Cain’s haunting narrative world.
