Wilco and Billy Bragg expand Mermaid Avenue sessions
An expanded Mermaid Avenue collection is set for December 11 with unreleased recordings and a Woody Guthrie home tape.
Craft Recordings has announced an expanded edition of Billy Bragg and Wilco’s Mermaid Avenue: The Complete Sessions for December 11. It brings the three volumes together with rare demos, alternate takes and a previously unreleased Woody Guthrie home recording. The announcement lists seven-LP-plus-single, four-CD and digital editions. It offers another way to hear the collaboration built around Guthrie’s unpublished words, without changing the original albums.
