Bella Poarch, born Denarie Bautista Taylor on February 9, 1997, in the Philippines, is a Filipino-American social media personality and singer who rose to prominence through TikTok. She was raised by her grandmother until age three, after which she was adopted by a white American military veteran and his Filipina wife. Poarch has spoken about experiencing physical and emotional abuse during her upbringing. At 13, she moved to the United States, living in San Francisco and later Texas, and eventually enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where she served for several years.

In April 2020, Poarch joined TikTok and quickly gained popularity. Her lip-sync video to “M to the B” by Millie B, posted in August 2020, became the platform’s most-liked video, amassing over 800 million views as of May 2024.

Transitioning into music, Poarch signed with Warner Records in May 2021 and released her debut single, “Build a Bitch,” which addresses themes of self-acceptance and challenges societal beauty standards. She followed up with the single “Inferno” in August 2021, a collaboration with Sub Urban.
