Janae Nierah Wherry, known professionally as Sexyy Red, is an American rapper and songwriter born on April 15, 1998. She gained mainstream recognition in 2023 with her viral single “Pound Town” featuring Tay Keith, followed by the Nicki Minaj-assisted remix “Pound Town 2,” her first Billboard Hot 100 entry. Her bold, sexually expressive style and unapologetic presence fueled her rise, with successful singles like “SkeeYee” and “Get It Sexyy,” the latter peaking in the top 20 and leading to her third mixtape, In Sexyy We Trust (2024). Red also made high-profile guest appearances on remixes for DaBaby, NLE Choppa, and Young Nudy and was notably featured on Drake’s “Rich Baby Daddy” and Tyler, the Creator’s “Sticky” in 2024, which marked her first top-10 Billboard hit. She began her career with the 2018 song “Ah Thousand Jugs” and released her debut mixtape, Ghetto Superstar, in 2021.
