About LOJAY

Ifeso Jr. (born ApriLekan Osl 28, 1996), professionally known as Lojay, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer recognized for his genre-blending sound and rapid rise in the global Afrobeats scene. His stage name, LO-J, is derived from the initials of his full name—Lekan Osifeso Junior. Lojay's passion for music began in his adolescence and grew throughout his teenage years. He began pursuing music professionally in 2016 while still an undergraduate, eventually committing fully after earning his degree. In December 2017, he debuted with the EP Midnight Vibes, a five-track project featuring songs like “Atarodo,” “Alomo,” and “Whine & Bubble.” Over the next few years, Lojay built his sound through a series of singles, including “Ariel” (2019), “Ogogoro” (2020), and others such as “Along,” “Kuli Kuli,” and “Over the Bar.” His breakout came in 2021 with the release of LV N ATTN, a collaborative EP with renowned Nigerian producer Sarz. The project included hit songs like “Tonongo,” “Panty!,” and the viral anthem “Monalisa,” which would later be remixed with Chris Brown. The remix peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart and earned Lojay widespread recognition. LV N ATTN also featured the track of the same name with Wizkid, further cementing Lojay's presence in the Afrobeats space. The project earned him a nomination for Next Rated Artist at the 2022 Headies Awards. That same year, he featured on DJ Neptune’s “Only Fan” alongside Zlatan Ibile and participated in the Heineken UEFA Champions League trophy tour in Nigeria. In March 2023, Lojay released his second solo EP, Gangster Romantic, further showcasing his versatility and sonic experimentation. That same year, he featured with Davido on Chris Brown's single “Sensational,” which debuted at No. 71 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking both artists' first entry on the chart. The song also earned Lojay his first Grammy nomination in the newly introduced Best African Music Performance category. In March 2023, his single “Monalisa” was certified Silver by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), underscoring his growing international success. With his signature fusion of Afrobeats, R&B, and experimental sounds, Lojay continues to push the boundaries of African music on the global stage.
