About Shenseea

Chinsea Linda Lee, professionally known as Shenseea, is a Jamaican dancehall artist born on October 1, 1996. She rose to prominence after remixing Vybz Kartel’s track “Loodi” and performing at Reggae Sumfest in 2015, later graduating to the main stage in 2017. Initially signed to Rockstar, Shenseea gained widespread attention with her bold style and versatile talent, including freestyling and rapping. Her early accolades include the Youth View Awards’ “Young Hot and Hype Artist” and “Breakout Celebrity of 2016.” She collaborated with Sean Paul on the single “Rolling” and toured with him in Europe. In 2018, she was featured on Christina Aguilera’s album Liberation and continued building momentum with releases like the “Secret (Remix)” with Vybz Kartel. Signing with Interscope Records in 2019, she released “Blessed,” featuring Tyga, which amassed over 58 million YouTube views by 2022. Her 2020 collaborations included “IDKW” with Rvssian, Swae Lee, and Young Thug, as well as features on Masego’s Studying Abroad and Major Lazer’s Music Is the Weapon. Her viral hit “Lighter” with Tarrus Riley and Rvssian became a regional anthem, racking up over 100 million views. In 2021, Shenseea featured alongside Roddy Ricch on Kanye West’s Billboard Hot 100 hit “Pure Souls” from Donda, earning her a Grammy nomination as a featured artist for Album of the Year. Her debut album, Alpha (2022), peaked at number two on the Top Reggae Albums chart, and her sophomore release, Never Gets Late Here (2024), was nominated for Best Reggae Album at the Grammys. With two MOBO Awards under her belt and an expanding international presence, Shenseea continues to cement her legacy as a global dancehall powerhouse.
