Travis Scott

Jacques Bermon Webster II, known professionally as Travis Scott, was born on April 30, 1991, in Houston, Texas. Launching his music career as a teen, he formed early duos like The Graduates and The Classmates before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue music full-time. His breakthrough came after signing as a producer with GOOD Music and Grand Hustle, and releasing his debut mixtape Owl Pharaoh in 2013. The seminal 2014 mixtape Days Before Rodeo, featuring production from Metro‑Boomin and Mike Dean and collaborations with artists like Migos and Young Thug, positioned him as a rising star .

In September 2015, Scott released his debut studio album Rodeo, which included the hit single “Antidote.” His sophomore album Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight (2016) debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. However, his third album Astroworld (2018), named after the now-defunct Houston theme park, was a cultural milestone—anchored by “Sicko Mode,” his first Billboard Hot 100 number-one hit. The album received critical acclaim, earned multi-platinum certifications, and won multiple awards .

In 2017, Travis founded his imprint Cactus Jack Records, signing artists such as Don Toliver, Sheck Wes, and SoFaygo, and later compiling them on the 2019 release JackBoys, which also topped the Billboard charts . His fourth solo album Utopia, released in July 2023 via Cactus Jack and Epic Records, debuted atop the Billboard 200—his fourth consecutive number-one album. Supported by a diverse production team including Metro Boomin, WondaGurl, Boi-1da, and Justin Vernon, Utopia spawned multiple top‑ten singles like “Meltdown” and “K‑pop,” and was accompanied by the directorial film Circus Maximus .

Despite widespread acclaim, Scott's career has faced serious challenges: in November 2021, a crowd surge during his Astroworld Festival performance in Houston resulted in ten deaths and hundreds of injuries. The tragedy led to legal action, public backlash, and increased scrutiny over live event safety—issues he has since addressed publicly and through changes in his touring practices .

Beyond music, Travis has built a cultural empire: his Cactus Jack Foundation supports Houston youth, while commercial partnerships with brands like Nike, McDonald’s, PlayStation, and Dior highlight his reach across fashion, entertainment, and gaming. Notably, his virtual film‑concert within Fortnite drew millions and helped shape a new era of immersive music experiences . He has two children with Kylie Jenner, and continues to push the boundaries of music, performance, and design.
