About Wande Coal

Wande Coal, born Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe on October 18, 1985, in Lagos Island, Nigeria, is a renowned Nigerian singer and songwriter celebrated for his contributions to Afrobeats, R&B, and Afro-pop. He began his musical journey in his church's teenage choir and initially entered the entertainment industry as a dancer. His breakthrough came in 2006 when he signed with Don Jazzy's Mo' Hits Records, featuring on D'banj's album "Rundown/Funk You Up" and the Mo' Hits All Stars' "Curriculum Vitae." His debut album, "Mushin 2 Mo' Hits" (2009), produced by Don Jazzy, included hits like "Ololufe" and "Bumper2Bumper," solidifying his status in the Nigerian music scene.

Following the dissolution of Mo' Hits Records in 2012, Wande Coal joined Mavin Records before establishing his own label, Black Diamond Entertainment, in 2013. His sophomore album, "Wanted" (2015), featured collaborations with artists such as Wizkid and Burna Boy. In 2020, he released the EP "Realms," showcasing his versatility with tracks like "Again." His third studio album, "Legend or No Legend" (2023), featured collaborations with Wizkid, Olamide, T-Pain, and Fireboy DML. In 2025, he collaborated with Kel-P on the EP "Best of Both Worlds," further cementing his influence in the Afrobeats genre.

Throughout his career, Wande Coal has been recognized for his exceptional vocal abilities and has received numerous accolades, including multiple awards at the 2010 Hip Hop World Awards (now The Headies) and the African Artiste of the Year at the 2010 Ghana Music Awards. His enduring impact on the Nigerian music industry continues to inspire a new generation of artists.
